Either way, you're going to need an outfit! We've pieced together three different looks based around 3 of the biggest trends for 2019 Summer that are light weight and breathable, exactly what you need for a busy (or lazy) long weekend.
Look 1: A unique take on the classic straw bag & summer dress look.
Unless you've been living under a rock, by now you are more than familiar with the straw bag trend which has been a huge feature of the Summer aesthetic for 2018 and 2019. This outfit draws upon the textured look and feel of the straw bags but adds a unique twist by swapping out straw for leather with the Sia tote. For this look we opted for the pastel pink (or misty rose as we call it) rather than tan (camel) just to give a further distinguishing feature to the outfit as well as tip our hat to another big trend this season; pastels.
Pair it with a light and flowy Summer dress, a complimenting pair of sunnies and ofcorse a jacket depending on which state you're in - fellow Melbournians know not to leave the house for more than a few hours without one - and your effortlessly chic long weekend outfit is complete!
Look 2: Sweet and sophisticated meets bohemian luxe
This look combines two of our favourite Summer time styles. The midi denim skirt and tucked in floral blouse give a put together yet flowy, feminine look. Then, add in a subtle touch of fringe and you've got the perfect weekend. The key here is balancing bohemian styling with elegance which is done by the tucking in the blouse and opting for a bag style with a hint of fringe, rather than an overwhelming arm of tassels.
Look 3: Pretty in pastel
As briefly mentioned in discussion of the first look, pastels are what it's all about this Summer. This gorgeous mini Spell & The Gypsy Collective dress pairs wonderfully with our Lucy bag for an effortlessly cute and flirty long weekend look. Perfect for any Australia day activity, this look will easily take you from the beach, to the barbecue and even to the bar that night. Look 4: Street style turned beach wear
For our fourth look we have continued on with the drawstring trend, this time opting for a larger, statement bucket bag. Plus, our choice of red was no coincidence as yep, you already know it, red is huge this season! We can't pass up an opportunity to add a touch of pop to our summer look and now this trend is popping up everywhere. To keep it cool and casual pair your red statement bag with a slogan or basic tee and denim bottoms (doesn't have to be a skirt - mix it up with some denim shorts for a more beach-ready look). Overall the vibe of this outfit gives an effortlessly chic yet put together look that is ready for anything the long weekend has install for you.
Look 5: Only the essentials
For our final look we've gone for a more basic outfit, yet the details still make for an edgy meets bohemian style that is perfect for the 3 day weekend. This outfit brings together three must-have items in every wardrobe: the little black dress, a baker boy cap and a leather backpack. The combination of these three could never go wrong as each is the perfect compliment for the other, plus what could be more convenient this long weekend than a backpack to store all your belongings, keeping your hands free to juggle whatever comes along.
