5 Autumn Fashion Trends of 2019

We have sifted through the Autumn/Winter Handbag trends of 2019 as listed by Emma Kansiz on the Glowsly fashion blog and paired each trend up with an item from some of our favourite designers, as well as our personal take on the trend. In no particular order, here are our Autumn 2019 fashion picks!

1. Bags with Furry Accents
It's no secret that here at Cadelle we love our animal print! If the leopard print lining didn't tell you that then the leopard silk covers and re-usable carry bags definitely would have.

The feline trend has certainly captured our hearts this Autumn/Winter and stealing the show is the Luna Leopard Clutch which is a stylish and functional clutch featuring 3 zip compartments, 20 card slots and even a secret spot for your reading/sun glasses to live. To finish it off Luna comes with a detachable wristlet to be worn as a clutch and a detachable gold chain for a stunning night out look that looks both tasteful and expensive.

2. Folded Leather Bags
"While leather is always in style, the designer collections turned up the volume on the classic silhouette with ruching, folding, and bending. The results were sculptural aesthetics that captured the elusive sensation of movement." Emma sums up the folded leather bag trend perfectly in describing a shape shifting style which is born out of the constantly evolving nature of leather. It is a material that never goes out of style, yet it is transformed in a variety of ways to produce a new and exciting trend the reinvigorates our look and inspires a transformation of all sorts.

For this trend our pick comes from Paris Fashion Week; the Dior fold over clutch bag.

Our pick from our own range follows a similar classic style and shape to that of Dior, as well as following on with the gold hardware and detailing. However in opting for a two-tone look we have introduced a new element to the bag, creating a more exciting piece which combined with the tassel pullers will liven up any look whilst maintaining a sophisticated, elegant look. Furthermore if you require more space simply unclip the strap, open up the bag to stand tall and re-clip the strap to the top rung of clips to create a much deeper bag. Who doesn't love the functionality of two bags in one!

3. Mustard Purses
It's a colour trend many expect will fade with the end of Summer, however by simply keeping a bit of yellow in your wardrobe through a saffron coloured bag we keep the funloving, blue skies feeling of Summer alive throughout the colder months.

4. Grown-Up Backpacks
In recent years backpacks have been associated mostly with school kids and college students. They have predominately been big and hefty, as well as rather unattractive.

However, a recent shift to a more functional style of bag has opened up a whole new area of design for backpacks in which adults have discovered the fantastic features of the classic backpack! Whether it's for carrying your iPad and books around for work, or simply needing to free up your hands while on vacation or while shopping, the 'grown-up backpack' trend has highlighted just how handy a backpack can be, without jeopardizing style.

The oversized black backpack featured as part of the Maison Margiela collection at Paris Fashion Week last month emphasized classic features and simplistic style whilst emphasizing the functional element of backpacks by displaying an iPad. For our own pick, we have stuck with a similar shape yet have downsized the bag to be a more feminine fit for everyday wear.

Furthermore, our Simone backpack is the epitome of stylish functionality as it easily converts from a backpack into a shoulder bag whilst maintaining its effortless style, becoming a stunning piece for everyday and night wear.

5. Shades of Pink
'Pink has a refreshing verve to it; it’s like a flirtatious cousin of crimson red. Pink is comforting and inviting and fits into the cozy mood of fall. Even vibrant berry tones look polished when paired with a neutral palette of blacks and greys.'

Emma's description of the light pink hue featuring heavily on the February 2019 catwalks leaves no question about how and why this trend became so popular.

Light pink is a recently discovered alternative to neutrals, in particular nude. It maintains the same warm undertones however adds another dimension to a look with it's more striking vibrancy and ability to complement any look in any season.

Roksanda

Roksanda's collection features a structured look in the dusty pink which adds a more masculine feature to the ultra feminine hue. For our own look we have opted for a more womanly shape, however the nature of boho styling and the oversized structure of the bag means it doesn't appear overly girly, instead it has a more relaxed rugged feel which blends perfectly from Summer to Winter and beyond.
